"Picture Perfect Day"...

Updated: Jun 13, 2020

Why we said "I DO" to a Wedding photoshoot post nuptials

Big Day Debacle

For a little over a year Heather and I planned every detail of our wedding from start to finish together. We say it all the time that we wish we could go back to the day we got married to be able to appreciate it again. It was the "first day of the rest of our lives." but to be honest I think we both felt it went too fast and wish we could go back. This is why the videography and photography was so important to us, to capture the moments that we wouldn't be able to focus on the day of.

What's a Wedding without D R A M A

Fast forward to both Heather and I, our Bridesmaids, Parents ,etc all ready to get to the venue and there are no limousines. Long story short, my in-laws were scammed by a company posing to be a luxury rental limo company for Weddings. The story is so funny now that we look back on it because Heather actually drove herself to our Wedding in my moms work van we call "The Woof Mobile." Our Wedding was everything we could've imagined and more, except one thing. BECAUSE of the car fiasco we lost almost 2 hours of potential pictures. I was devastated, so we contacted our wedding coordinator and photographer to see what we could do. They worked with us and we scheduled a photoshoot at our venue a week after the wedding! We knew no one would have any idea what day the pictures were from, if my hair was up or down, etc except for us. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise and a Wedding Tip I actually recommend to all Brides- to- be!

Wedding Day Dress- Up...

Minus the stress, was SO much fun. This whole shit storm actually gave Heather and I a chance to breathe, get glammed and dressed together, and enjoy our venue all over again. Our wedding team even got us the Rolls Royce we were supposed arrive to the venue in, and we had champagne in the Royce for a drive around Middletown, CT. The day was perfect. The pictures came out FANTASTIC, they are all over our home and all social media platforms (duh)

Why you should consider doing this?

  1. Cocktail Hour - You won't miss as much of your cocktail hour. If you decided to do post-nup pics, you get to take as many family and bridesmaid/groomsmen photo-ops as you want and still enjoy the cocktail hour you paid for.

  2. You get to wear your Dress again - You pay so much money for your Wedding dress, and this gets you in it one more time! - There's no better feeling than being in your wedding gown that you feel F-ing bomb in. It's kind of like a re-do also, you can have different make-up and hair too. Anything you might not have loved about how you looked the day of, you can capture in other pictures.

  3. Pinterest Pictures - Any poses you missed, moments, laughs, kisses you see on #Pinterest - And you will genuinely be happy and not starving wishing you were eating the snackies during cocktail hour that you paid for.

  4. You and Bae - Most importantly. It's also an opportunity to have a super intimate moment with your partner in the place you chose to say your vows to each other. Falling in love with a venue is one of the biggest commitments when planning a wedding. It's really amazing to see it, take pictures and remember why you both chose this place for you to celebrate the beginning of your lives together.
